A FAMILY who fell victim to a bogus Take That ticket scam got to see the next best thing when a tribute act offered them free tickets.
When Take That 2 read The Chronicle‘s story last week about the Gittins family losing £750 on tickets to see the Fab Five, they were so sympathetic they offered them free tickets to see the triute act perform in Chester last weekend.
Emma Gittins of Kelsall, had booked eight tickets on the Ticket Index website to see Take That play at the City of Manchester stadium on June 5, but did not receive them.
As Emma is currently on holiday, her parents Sue and Andy Gittins, of Kelsall, were happy to accept the offer and enjoyed the concert and three course meal at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Hoole.
And they even got to meet the boys afterwards!
“It was a very nice evening and it was very generous of them to offer it to us,” said Sue.
“They are a lovely group of lads, although the evening did make us want to see Take That even more!”
Doubletree by Hilton sales and marketing manager Clare Bebb said the hotel was happy to help: “The family had been left in such an awful situation and we here at the DoubleTree could offer the next best thing.”
