Police are stepping up patrols after reports of suspicious behaviour relating to a silver vehicle in the Saughall and Blacon areas of Chester.

A Cheshire Constabulary statement alerts the community to two incidents which happened in the last few days.

During the first incident a silver vehicle drove slowly past youngsters on Church Road, Saughall, about 8.30pm on Sunday (September 20).

The following evening (Monday September 21), a similar vehicle was seen to drive slowly past a group of young people near to The Parade shops in Blacon.

Both incidents were reported to the police on the Monday.

The youngsters were not spoken to or approached by the occupants of the vehicle on either occasion and no offences were committed but the behaviour of the occupants concerned those youngsters present.

Police patrols made an extensive search of the areas involved however the vehicle was not located.

Inspector Brian Green, of Chester Local Policing Unit, said “We take incidents of this type very seriously. We are investigating the reports and residents may see an increase of police patrols in the area for visibility and reassurance purposes. We would ask that anyone who witnesses suspicious activity should contact police on 101.”
