YOUNGSTERS in Tilston will be able to keep fit and have fun during the summer holidays thanks to a new sports skills course.
The scheme, organised by Tilston Playing Field Association and partly funded by the NHS and Cheshire Community Action, offers leader-based sessions for six mornings throughout August, and will provide enough equipment for youngsters between the ages of 7 and 13 to play football, rounders, tag rugby and ultimate frisbee.
The course’s five leaders – former Bishop Heber High School students who are now at university – are all either working with children, have worked with them in the past, or are training to do so.
A total of 40 places are available on the scheme each morning on a first come, first served basis and the youngsters will be divided into two groups and coached in two sports.
The next course dates are today (Thursday), Tuesday, August 16 and Thursday, August 18, from 10.30am-12.30pm each day.
All participants will need to bring written parental consent and suitable clothing and footwear, as well as their own drinks and snacks.
