RESIDENTS at Sandbach, Holmes Chapel and Alsager are being urged to voice their views on plans to develop facilities to reinvigorate the local economy.

Congleton Borough Council is holding public consultations to discuss where houses, businesses and leisure facilities should be built in

The council wants to know the thoughts of residents, businesses and organisations about draft site allocations which are part of a new-style plan.

Public meetings will allow people to ask questions and hear more about the proposals. The council's the future. preferred option is for a mixture of sites in the borough's towns mainly using previously developed sites but with additional greenfield sites to meet development needs.

Portfolio holder for planning and economic planning, Cllr Jack Iddon said: 'We are proposing sites which will assist in meeting the needs of those local people who can't afford to buy a house in the borough.'

* Meetings are being held tonight at Sandbach Town Hall, on Monday at Alsager Civic Hall, Tuesday at Congleton Town Hall and Thursday, October 12, at the Victoria Club in Holmes Chapel. All meetings start at 7pm and finish at around 9pm.
