National Citizen Students recently raised more than £300 for Miles of Smiles.

The students who are further learning through Catch 22 held a 'speed dating' event last October with 6 charities all touting for their fundraising skills. Miles of Smiles was successful enough to have students who carried out four fundraising events including a karaoke night, car boot sale, a Christmas fair stall and a walk from Ellesmere Port to Chester to raise money towards the appeal for sending terminally ill, sick and disabled children on the next Miles of Smiles trip to Disneyland Paris.

Sue Thomas, chair of the charity that is run by a small group of volunteers said: “This is fantastic news. By doing this fundraising these students are also learning that they can make a difference, especially for poorly children helping to make some memories that will last a lifetime and Miles of Smiles appreciates every penny raised for the charity. A massive thank you from all the committee and well done!”
