JUBILANT students at Ellesmere Port Catholic High School have been celebrating getting the grades they wanted on A-level results day.

Despite a period of uncertainty due to reductions in university places and higher course fees, headteacher Peter Lee said his students have ‘coped admirably’, and worked especially hard, with more than 80% being accepted on to their first-choice courses.

“Our students, with great support from staff and parents have coped admirably, whether they aspired to places at world-class academic institutions or to degrees more directly career-related, the great majority have achieved their goal,” he said.

“I wish them all every success and thank them for their contributions to our school community and their parents and teachers who have supported them in doing so.”
