A CHARITY fashion show to raise money for a lifeboat appeal will be held in Frodsham next month.
Suzanne’s clothes shop in Church Street, Frodsham, will be providing clothes for the event at the community centre, Fluin Lane, on November 10 from 7pm.
Owner Suzanne Winfield said: “We have been in Frodsham for 14 years now and we always do a couple of fashion shows a year for charity and try to vary the charities as much as we can.
“All the models are volunteers and we try to get people involved in the organisations to go down the cat walk. It is a really nice, relaxing, fun evening and a great night out.”
The Frodsham branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) organised the event to raise money for the Hoylake £2m appeal.
Hoylake RNLI lifeboat station is one of the oldest in the UK and its old boathouse, which dates back to 1899, is too small, outmoded and can not be further modified to house the next generation of lifeboat.
A new station building is almost complete so the focus of the fundraising will now move to the need for a new all-weather lifeboat for Hoylake’s RNLI volunteers.
Frodsham branch secretary John Lloyd said: “In the last year we have been raising money for the Hoylake £2m lifeboat appeal. The appeal has already reached its first milestone of £1m and is well on its way to the second. As a branch in Frodsham we want to raise money for what is our nearest lifeboat station. We have got about 150 tickets to sell and we want to add to the £3,000 we have raised in Frodsham already this year.”
Tickets for the event cost £5 and are available from Suzanne’s, Church Street, Frodsham on 01928 735442 and the RNLI Frodsham branch on 01928 734985.
