A LARGE crowd turned out to Frodsham Station on Sunday to see the latest North Wales Coast Express pass through.

Local steam enthusiast Neil Kennedy sent us these photos of the crowds around the LMS No 6201 Princess Elizabeth.

Organised by heritage rail operator The Railway Touring Company, the next North Wales Coast Express will run on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25.

Nigel Dobbing, MD of The Railway Touring Company, said: “Last summer, more than 5,000 people took one of our summer steam services and, with this special 40th anniversary, we are expecting at least as many people to choose the steam rail over their cars.”

The service starts at Liverpool Lime Street, to Broad Green, Warrington Bank Quay, Frodsham and Chester, en route to Colwyn Bay, Llandudno Junction, Conwy, Bangor and Holyhead. Visit www.railwaytouring.co.uk
