HOLIDAYMAKERS are being invited to enjoy a taste of life down on the farm in a new Cheshire County Council publication.

Stay on a Cheshire Farm features many bed and breakfast venues in rural villages surrounding Crewe and Nantwich.

It will be distributed through tourist information centres and service stations in a bid to boost the county's tourism industry.

Many farms offering accommodation were hard hit by the foot and mouth epidemic and are still trying to recover from the financial losses.

County Councillor David Rowland (pictured), chairman of Cheshire Rural Recovery Committee, said: `Farm accommodation has an important role to play in Cheshire's £600m tourism industry. Visitors have the reassurance that all members of the Stay on a Cheshire Farm group offer independently inspected and graded quality accommodation in beautiful parts of the county.' The brochure has been produced as part of a £10m rescue plan, funded by the North West Development Agency.
