CHESTER’S Forum Studio Theatre plays host to its first touring show this month.

Judy and Me is a musical tribute to Hollywood icon Judy Garland.

Isabelle Georges and Frédérik Steenbrink sing, dance, act and play the piano in this insightful journey through the star’s fascinating life.

Judy was pushed on stage at the age of two and dancing, singing and acting classes were soon her only routine. At 16 she landed the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.

As a young actress she was given amphetamines and barbiturates to cope with making one movie after another. She died in 1969 aged 47 in London from an accidental overdose of barbiturates.

Judy and Me is at the Forum Studio Theatre on October 30 at 7.30pm. Tickets £10/£8 from 01244 341296 or www.tiptopproductions.co.uk. It is also at Upton Village Hall on November 2 at 7.30pm. Tickets £7 from Bache Post Office and Geoff Newton on 01244 380068.
