CELEBRITIES from the worlds of sport and showbiz came together for an annual fundraising cricket match at Cholmondeley Castle.
The teams were captained by Mike Watkinson, former Lancashire and England player, who led the visitors, while Chris England captained The Lords Taverners team that included TV presenter Nick Hancock, president of the Northwest Lords Taverners.
Cricketers, soccer stars, television and stage actors, Taverners and journalists were involved in the event, which was sponsored by Baker Tilly.
Familiar faces included Gordon Kennedy of Robin Hood, Dean Andrews from Life on Mars, from the world of soccer Danny Higginbottom from Stoke City, Justin Walker of Nottingham Forest, Steve Froggatt, ex-England and Aston Villa, as well as auctioneer Adam Partridge from TV’s Flog It.
Adam Partridge conducted the auction which raised more than £6,000 and German comedian Henning Wehn had guests giggling at his routine.
Mark Fearnall, chairman of the Chester Lords Taverners and organiser of the event, thanked sponsors Baker Tilly for making the cricket day possible.
