EXCELLENT GCSE results are being celebrated at St.David's High School in Saltney where 66% of students achieved five or more passes at grades A* to C.

Headteacher Tony Davidson said the school was proud of the achievements of all students and particularly pleased with the results of Josh Eaton who achieved seven A* grades and one A, Georgia Bold who gained three A* grades, four A grades and a B, Claire Morris who gained two A* grades, five As and a B, Demi Spenser who achieved one A*, five As and two B grades, and Sophie Pritchard four As and five Bs.

Mr Davidson said: “Students of all abilities have approached their GCSE examinations with considerable energy and determination, and teaching staff have provided excellent support and guidance. The results achieved reflect the hard work and dedication which we have seen over the past five years.”

“This year's A to C pass rate is up on 2007 and, for the third consecutive year, we have beaten our previous best. Our overall A* to G pass rate, pass rate has also improved and the average points score per students is up by 12% on last year.”

“The great majority of students and their parents and staff are delighted and so am I. I congratulate everyone concerned. Our aim will be to continue the upward trend and to continue to achieve results which currently place us in the top 25% of schools in Wales for added value.”
