Pupils at St David’s High School in Saltney celebrated their namesake’s special day in style.

The school ran a St David’s Day competition for Years 7, 8 and 9 in conjunction with the school canteen with cook Carys Davies.

Students were asked to design a Welsh food menu, create a Welsh recipe or find out where Welsh food came from to raise awareness of Welsh culture and to promote eating in the canteen.

The winners were Fayeeza Ali of Year 9, Katelyn Eagle of Year 8 and Ella MacPherson of Year 7, who all walked away with a £10 voucher.
