YOUNGSTERS of all abilities can get into a range of fun physical activities in the borough over the Easter holidays.

Ellesmere Port and Neston Special Olympics and the borough council are running the ninth All Abilities Multi Sport Programme between April 3 and 12, with funding from Shell UK.

Dedicated coaching and support staff will lead able and disabled young people aged 11 to 18 in a variety of sports such as badminton, handball, basketball, uni-hoc and volleyball.

The programme is designed for young people with learning or physical difficulties, as well as able-bodied youngsters who might not take part in mainstream sport.

The Easter programme will also be hosting the boccia and pan-disability football trials for both the borough and Chester teams for the Cheshire and Warrington Partnership Youth Games.

Shell UK is supporting the borough with money for activities and the volunteer's training and development.

Michelle Aspden, the council's youth sport development officer, said: 'We're very grateful to Shell UK for the funding, which has allowed the partnership to develop this programme. We now have an excellent structure supporting and delivering effective, fun sport.'

The programme is running from 12.30-4pm at the EPIC on Tuesdays, April 3 and 10 and Thursdays, April 5 and 12, and at Stanney Oaks Leisure Centre on Wednesdays, April 4 and 11.
