FOOTBALL stars dropped into a hospital ward to spread some Christmas cheer.

On Tuesday, 25 Chester City footballers dished out a massive delivery of selection boxes to a grateful ward of children at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

Janet Ratcliffe, Countess fundraising manager, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Chester City Football Club.

“Not only for supporting the children’s ward but for doing really well with their appeal to raise £15,000 to buy an incubator for our Special Care Baby Unit.

“The children were delighted. It brightened their day.

“We have enough selection boxes to give some to children who come in over the Christmas period as well as those in now.”
