We may be on the brink of May but it seems the weather hasn't received that particular memo.

The Met Office has issued a warning of snow for Cheshire West and Chester for Friday morning (April 29).

The alert is in force from 5am until 10am, so there may be difficult driving conditions and traffic disruption across the borough.

Up to 10cm of snow could fall in areas of the North West.

A Met Office spokesperson said: A depression moving eastwards across northern parts of Northern England on Thursday evening will bring cold air in its wake, causing showery outbreaks of rain to turn to snow, principally on hills but also to low levels at times.
