FUNDRAISING sisters have set a date for their nightclub charity bash.

Vicky Pay and Sue Pritchard aim to raise hundreds of pounds for Cancer Research with the event on Sunday, July 8.

They have been given the Destiny & Elite venue at The Coliseum free of charge by big-hearted club boss Nigel Gowland, so every penny they raise can go towards the fight against women's cancers.

Vicky and Sue, both from Ellesmere Port, are organising the bash in honour of their mum Pat Pay, who is fighting ovarian cancer.

Sue, who runs a burger van on Ellesmere Port Golf Course, said: 'We have got to try and sell at least 750 tickets if we want to make as much money as possible for charity.

'We thank the Pioneer for all its support. It's keeping mum so strong and positive.'

Vauxhall Motors has pledged a £100 donation, with a financial pledge from Electrical Oils and raffle prizes from Asda.

Mr Gowland first met Vicky when she came second in last month's Miss Cheshire Oaks beauty contest held at the Coliseum Way venue.

The mature student told him how she and Sue are doing the annual Race for Life run at Aintree racecourse on Sunday, July 15 in support of women suffering from cancer. And he pledged to help them with this forthcoming event.

* Tickets for the fundraising event, from 8.30pm to 12.30am, are £3 each, available from the club or by e-mailing Sue at s.pritchard80@ntlworld.com
