THERE'S a new look around the Forum in the heart of Chester.

Signs have been sprouting up around the city pointing theatregoers in the direction of the Forum Studio Theatre.

It is just three years since Tip Top Productions asked the then city council for permission to run the former Gateway Theatre.

Since then the company has gone from strength to strength providing Chester city centre with the only regular venue for amateur and professional theatre.

The Forum Theatre's manager, Steve Davies, said: “Thanks to the support of Cheshire West and Chester Council local people and visitors can now easily identify that there is a city centre theatre in existence because they have installed several strategically placed signs which lead to our theatre.

“Ever since we took up residence we have faced an unconvinced public relentlessly insisting that the theatre was closed in 2007.

“We are just putting the finishing touches to our fourth season at the Forum and it is crammed with diversity.”
