GOLFERS are invited to take part in a charity golf day in aid of Chester’s MS Support Centre.

The event, on Tuesday, May 24, is being sponsored by Cheshirebased property development firm Bell Meadow and will take place at Helsby Golf Club.

This is the centre’s second annual charity golf day and organisers are hoping to beat last year’s fundraising success of £1,500.

These funds contributed towards the running costs of the centre, which is based in Saltney, and has 250 members.

The charity receives no automatic statutory funding for its services and about 80% of its funding is provided through activities such as the golf day.

Neil Kemsley, chairman of the MS Support Centre, said: “We invite golfers to join us for another 18-hole Texas Scramble competition to raise money for our centre.

“We hope to raise even more funds this year to help the centre to continue its work providing practical support, therapies and management strategies to people living with MS and other neurological conditions.”

The charity golf day will include refreshments on arrival in the morning, plus a three-course dinner, raffle and prize-giving event in the evening. The cost is £200 to enter a team of four.
