A BRAND new Sichuan Opera which is being performed and toured for first time in the UK will be visiting Tattenhall.

Today (Friday) the Barbour Institute, on High Street is playing host to the Flying Panda group which is a collaboration between a group of theatre makers from East Midlands and the prestigious Sichuan Opera Troupe of Chengdu.

The Story Traders of Sichuan is a cross cultural show created specifically for rural touring audiences. This traditional form of Chinese theatre is over three hundred years old and tells stories of honour, justice, love and retribution. It is a story told through evocative song, exotic percussion and vibrant costumes.
