MOTORCYCLING brothers who completed a expedition of war cemeteries across Europe described the trip as a humbling experience.

Brian, Dave and Paul White, from Middlewich and Moulton respectively, travelled through France and Belgium visiting graves of Moulton men killed in the First World War.

The trio completed the 1,247 mile round trip in three-and-a-half days, visiting more than 30 graves.

Brian, 45, a lorry driver from Brynlow Drive, Middlewich, said: 'It was an incredible experience. Seeing the graves of these brave young men who died for their country was unbelievably emotional.'

The inspiration for the trip came from a book written by Moulton author and historian Geoff Crompton.

Entitled 34 Men, the book tells the story of men from the village who died in the Great War of 1914-18.

Brian said: 'It's an amazing read and it just inspired me.'

As well as paying their respects, the brothers took commemorative photos that will now be displayed in Moulton Royal British Legion Club.
