A public exhibition will enable Tarporley residents to find out more about plans to build an Aldi superstore in the village.

The award-winning discount food retailer is preparing a bespoke proposal for a new supermarket just off Tarporley High Street and residents will be able to ask questions and give their feedback to members of the project team at the consultation on Monday November 23 at Tarporley Community Centre between 3pm and 7pm.

The new store promises to reflect the unique character of Tarporley and create up to 50 new jobs across the development, as well as those during construction.

There will be convenient access to the store, including free customer car parking, a new community car park and attractive landscaping incorporated into the scheme, which is said to enhance the appearance of the site.

An Aldi spokesperson said: “We are excited about the prospect of delivering an Aldi store for Tarporley. We know there is a real need for a new food retailer in the area and believe our bespoke proposal would contribute to the vitality of Tarporley.

“Following discussions with Tarporley Parish Council, we have put in a lot of effort to ensure the proposal reflects the unique character of Tarporley, and would encourage local residents to come to our exhibition to view the plans in more detail, and find out how they have been developed.

"Aldi is the fastest-growing retailer in the UK because we offer high-quality produce at reasonable prices, and we hope to be able to offer that to the people of Tarporley."

Tarporley Parish Council will be holding its own surgery in the Committee Room at the same time as the consultation meeting and residents are invited to air their views there too.
