A VILLAGE pub was packed with the best blooms in the annual Tilston and Shocklach gardening club show.

About 30 exhibitors bought their best flowers, fruit and vegetables to The Bull, in Shocklach to be judged by gardening show expert Derek Jones from Cuddington.

Exhibitors had to wait nervously while Mr Jones judged the exhibits in the morning, then the show opened up to the public in the afternoon so visitors could see who had achieved a first, second or third place.”

Organiser Wendy Gilpin said: “It was a fantastic day. The sun shone so we could show our flowers at their best. We were able to sit outside in the sunshine and enjoy a cream tea which had been laid on by the staff at the Bull. We have to say a big thank you to the owners of the Bull and to all the exhibitors.”

The best in show award went to Russell Pierpoint and Wendy herself achieved the most points in the show for her exhibits.

The gardening club meet the third Monday of every month in The Bull, in the village.
