Children at a village school were not only able to put away their uniform for a day - they were also encouraged to go wild with their hair and make-up as part of an unusual fundraising event.
Youngsters from Shocklach Oviatt CE Primary were taking part in a Crazy Hair and Painted Faces Day in the build up to the village church fete which takes place this Saturday (June 25) at Grafton Hall in Tilston.
The school came up with a novel way of building up supplies for the wine and water stall which the school will be running at the event.
Children were allowed to come to school wearing the most imaginative crazy hair and painted faces but in return they had to pay a tariff of one bottle of wine.
So now the school is stocked up and ready to go for what they hope will be a successful occasion.
To finish off the occasion, Rose Brown from Badgers Class won a prize for her fabulous Cloudy Day face while Elena Favro from Foxes Class won a prize for her beautiful butterfly face.
