TEENAGE Sea Cadet Jessica Adams has sailed to a top county title.
Leading Cadet Jessica, 15, of Crewe, was appointed Lord Lieutenant's Cadet for Cheshire for 2006-7 at a special ceremony held at Chester's Fox Barracks.
She received a special badge and a certificate of appointment from the Lord Lieutenant for Cheshire, Colonel William Bromley-Davenport.
In her citation, Colonel Gerry Wells-Cole, chief executive of the North West of England Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, said: 'Jessica is one of the shining stars of the Crewe Sea Cadet Unit, impeccably smart, genuinely enthusiastic and an inspiration to fellow cadets.'
Her duties will involve assisting the Lord Lieutenant at service and cadet related functions.
The appointment is made in rotation from the three service linked cadet organisations, the Sea Cadet Corps, Army Cadet Force and Air Training Corps. For this year, the appointment is with the Sea Cadets.
Watching the ceremony were her mother and father, Chris and Elaine Adams, and her Sea Cadet Force Unit Commander, Sub-Lieutenant Steve Binks.
Jessica's ambitions may lie with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary as an officer.
