SHELL Stanlow has stepped in to provide relaxing and enjoyable days out for older residents in Ellesmere Port.

The company first joined forces with Age Concern Cheshire earlier this year to deliver a series of trips, treats and visits for elderly residents in the Ellesmere Port area.

The scheme has proved to be a huge success, providing a variety of interesting and fun days out for many local older people. Visits included outings to Llangollen, Hoylake, the Manchester Imperial War Museum and Southport, as well as treats such as facials, manicures and massages.

Shell technology manager, Eric Waugh, and communications assistant Rachel Strefford, joined a group of older people during an organised day trip on a canal boat at The Cheshire Cat in Christleton, to announce the renewal of their sponsorship with Age Concern Cheshire.

Eric said: ‘The scheme provides an excellent opportunity for our local older residents to get out there and meet people and have a fun time whilst in a safe and friendly environment.

‘We are delighted with the work Age Concern Cheshire has done and we were more than happy to continue to support this great initiative.’

Age Concern representative, Barbara Lawton, said: ‘Working in partnership with Shell Stanlow has enabled us to do just that and we are extremely grateful for their ongoing support.’
