Aromantic couple enjoying love second time around are celebrating a special Valentine's Day after winning a Chronicle competition.

Pamela Mortimer and John Buso won a £600 portrait of themselves after Pamela wrote to us saying why her relationship is so special in no more than 150 words.

The portrait was captured by Nantwich photographer Adam Capper in time for the big day and the pair say they are delighted.

Pamela, of Sandfield Avenue, Wrenbury, said: 'I'm so happy to have won this competition and I want to thank Adam for taking such a great picture.'

The couple met in 1994 but split up seven years later. However, true love conquered all as the pair reconciled and they now have a four-month-old daughter, Amalie.

Pamela, 37, a customer service manager at Tesco in Whitchurch, added: 'I never thought John and I would get back together again. I knew he worked as a postman in Nantwich and I used to see him when I went shopping.'

The pair are divorced from previous marriages in which they both had two children. They currently live apart, something they believe makes their relationship strong er.

John, 45, of Sandhurst Drive, Wistaston, said: 'Not living together probably isn't conventional but we are very lucky to be given a second chance.'

Of all the entries to our Valentine competition, the Chronicle and Adam felt the couple's love shone out in Pamela's romantic words.
