Police helicopter spotted hovering over town after incident in Church Street

A search operation is under way following reports of a robbery at a travel agents in Frodsham .

Emergency services were called to the incident in Church Street at about 2pm on Thursday (August 11).

The police helicopter has been spotted hovering above the town.

A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called shortly before 2pm following a robbery at a travel agents in Frodsham.

"Officers are currently making a search of the area and enquiries are ongoing."

Armed robbers made off with thousands of pounds after they raided Frodsham Post Office on June 1.

On that occasion the postmaster was threatened with a handgun and ordered to open the safe.
