A WIDNES mum has hailed her brother after he leapt thousands of feet for charity.

Julie Dwyer's brother, Sean Colquitt, decided to raise cash for Warrington Hospital's baby unit after Julie's baby was born two months early and had to spend weeks in the unit.

Julie said: 'We would just like to say a big 'thank you' to everyone at the hospital.

'Sean wanted to do it his way by jumping out of an aeroplane. 'He raised over £1,000 for the baby unit and he said jumping from such a height was the most nerve-racking thing he has ever done.'

Sean was accompanied by two of his friends John Anderson and Paul Cook, who raised cash for Harry Whitley, the youngster who suffers from one of the world's rarest forms of epilepsy.

Sean said: 'The jump was a great experience and I was nervous about it.

'But I put that to one side as I wanted to do it for a such a worthy cause.'
