Power supply to about 100 homes was affected following a newtork fault on Monday, January 13.

One person in Blacon reported a loud bang and a flash in the sky, with other reports of flickering lights in Bache and Vicars Cross.

A spokesperson for Scottish Power said: “We received eight calls from the area last night at around 8.35pm.

“What we have found is a fault in the  overhead network which caused flickering lights in the area.

“We had to take in the region of 100 customers off supply until about 10.25pm and there were about 20 customers who had to be  taken off overnight while we worked to correct the fault.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
