WORKING with an African drummer, an orchestra, a touring dance company and with artists helped a high school win an arts award.

Tarporley Community High School has been awarded an Artsmark Award which recognises schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to developing a dynamic arts programme.

Headteacher Sarah Lee was delighted the school's progressive arts education programme had been recognised. She said: 'We have regular musical productions and drama showcases and an Art in the Community archive is being created which places artwork on exhibition in community venues. A big thank you to staff for all their hard work in achieving this award.'
