High-summer creativity will be the name of the game as three exciting features are introduced, challenging designers and school children to showcase their talent and originality.
The new categories are: The RHS Young Designer of the Year Competition, Visionary Gardens and The Wonderful World of Vegetables.
The young designer category aims to encourage emerging gardening talent, the RHS has selected three outstanding entrants to design an ambitious garden for display at the show. Competitors will each receive £12,000 of funding to realise their gardens as they battle it out.
Six innovative garden designers have been selected from a list of hopefuls to win a place in the new Visionary Gardens category.
This new competition encourages an emphasis on artistic concepts, future fashions and trends, environmental implications, such as climate change, and use of sustainable materials.
School children will be entering the new Wonderful World of Vegetable competition to show off their horticultural handy work. With the aim to get kids thinking about vegetables and healthy eating, the competition will harness creativity and imagination, with kids growing their favourite vegetables and herbs then displaying them in exciting and adventurous ways.
As well as all of this, the RHS Show Tatton Park boasts a wealth of visitor favourites, including the colourful RHS/Ball Colegrave National Flower Bed Competition, inspirational garden designs by up and coming designers, nurseries and growers.
