Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash in Saltney.

The B5129 Saltney Ferry Road in Saltney is closed in both directions after a car left the road and went up an embankment colliding with a hedge, at 2.55pm today (August 13).

The male driver of the Ford Focus car and his female passenger were helped by paramedics at the scene near the Hawarden Airport roundabout by Airbus and police say they have been taken to the Countess of Chester hospital.

The incident caused the road to be blocked and police have closed the road so that recovery can take place.

A North Wales Police spokesman said: “We were called at 2.55pm after a Ford Focus left the road on the B5129 and the car went up an embankment.

“We are closing the road to remove the vehicle.”

The Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We sent a rapid response car and two emergency ambulances to the scene and a man and a woman were taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital."
