A SALTNEY Ferry woman is dancing on air after waltzing into the finals of a national slimming competition.
After losing 5st 11.5lb, Alexandra Kent became one of just 42 women from across the UK to reach the Slimming World Woman of the Year 2010 finals.
Alexandra, of Ewart Street, joined the Mancot Slimming World group in January and has since slimmed down from 16st 2lb to 10st 4.5lb.
Her weight loss inspired fellow members to vote for her in the annual Woman of the Year competition and she made it to the national finals, where former Hollyoaks and Strictly Come Dancing star Ricky Whittle was on hand to congratulate her on her stunning transformation.
Alexandra, 41, said: “I’d tried so many times and so many ways to lose weight. I did have to make changes, but I loved tucking into delicious healthy meals and watching the pounds fall off.
“Even though I wasn’t shortlisted I still feel like a winner and I’ve already got the prize I came to Slimming World for in the first place – I’m slimmer, healthier, happier and more confident.”
