A SALTNEY Ferry post office branch which had temporarily closed in late October reopened its doors to the public on Monday.

The branch in Mainwaring Drive closed on October 29 for an IT upgrade, but the lack of notice at the time led some residents to fear the closure would be permanent.

Sue Hodgins, field change adviser, said: “I am really happy we have been able to secure the services of Greame Adshead from our Flint branch to run the branch on an interim basis.

“Graeme is a very experienced subpostmaster who will do a great job while we continue our search for a long-term solution.

“I would like to apologise to our customers in Saltney Ferry area for any inconvenience the temporary closure may have caused them over the past few weeks.

“I hope they will now support Graeme in his effort to restore this valuable service.”

The post office is now open from 9am to 5.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

On Wednesdays, the branch’s hours are 9am-1pm and on Saturdays the hours are 9am-12.30pm.

The branch will remain closed on Sundays.
