CHESHIRE company Rowlinsons Solicitors has appointed the Hospice of the Good Shepherd as one of its chosen charities for 2011.

The firm has presented the Backford-based charity with a signed Cristiano Ronaldo football shirt and a designer dress worn by Coronation Street regular Kym Marsh.

Denis Stevenson, managing director of Rowlinsons Solicitors, said: “With statistics of one in three people developing some form of cancer in their lifetime, it is an illness that touches many lives and is one of the reasons why staff at Rowlinsons have chosen to support the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, as many have been directly affected and the hospice provides an invaluable service to the local community.”

Amanda le Bretton, fundraiser for Hospice of the Good Shepherd, added: “We are delighted with the signed Ronaldo shirt and Kym Marsh’s designer dress and we will auction these items at one of our many future fundraising events.

“The hospice relies on the support of local businesses such as Rowlinsons and we are looking forward to forming a long lasting relationship over the coming months.”
