Billionaire visitor was in county to support his daughters

Roman Chester took on a new meaning yesterday when billionaire Roman Abramovich was spotted in the city streets.

The owner of Chelsea Football Club had flown into the county by heliccopter on Saturday to watch two of his daughters compete in the amateur competitions at Bolesworth International on Saturday, June 18.

His daughters Sofia and Ariana were competing at the glamorous four-day event, with Ariana riding in the CSI2** 1m30 show jumping category and Sofia riding horse Rainbow in the 1m15 Amateur competition.

Other stars watching the high level of international competition this week included newsreader Alastair Stewart, Chester-based BBC Breakfast's Louise Minchin and Olympic medallist Beth Tweddle .

The Saturday evening included a concert from 90's girl band Atomic Kitten who enjoyed an evening in the VIP hospitality area with friends, Kerry Katona, Natasha Hamilton, Liz McClarnon and Jude Cisse who was filming episodes of her own ITV reality programme at the show.

Also at Bolesworth this week were 90s boy band 5ive who performed on Friday night.

The final day of competition today will see London 2012 Olympic heroes Nick Skelton, Ben Maher and Scott Brash go head to head in the Grand Prix competition at 2.30pm.

Nick Skelton posed for photographs with Lucy Shaverin of Brooke, Action For Working Horses and Donkeys, an international charity that protects and improves the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules.

Sarah Jones tweeted a picture of herself with the billionaire when he was spotted in the city centre with his corgis.
