BUDDING pop stars had a big act to follow at a school concert – their teachers.
Pupils took to the stage at St David’s High School, Saltney, to perform hits by artists from Abba to Black Sabbath.
But one of the highlights was a star turn by the head Tony Davidson in a band of teachers and a staff Girls Aloud tribute act.
The Pop Through the Ages concert marked the end of the school year.
The event was organised by Anne Rushforth, the school’s head of creative arts,Šand sixth form pupils.
Highlights included year 9 student Jessica Cavendish singing What a Feeling, the teachers’ rendition of the Waterboys’ Fisherman’s Blues and the sixth form band playing Paranoid by Black Sabbath.
Teachers Vickie Hughson and Hollie McFarlane and administration assistant Amber Forshaw sang The Promise by Girls Aloud.
Year 7 pupils had kicked off the evening with Abba's Mamma Mia! and Year 8 pupil Steven Goff impressed with his MCing.
The evening concluded with the sixth form singing a beautiful version of Destiny's Child’s Stand Up For Love.
