A GROUP of popstars’ efforts is hoping to boost Hillsborough families’ spirits with a charity Christmas single.

The likes of Robbie Williams, Melanie C from the Spice Girls and Paloma Faith have joined forces, along with Liverpool FC stars Alan Hansen and Sir Kenny Dalglish, to form the Justice Collective.

Their song, a cover version of the 1969 Hollies hit He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother, is currently odds-on to be Christmas number one.

Proceeds from the song, which will be released on Monday, will go to raise money for the families of the 96 football fans who died in the 1989 Hillsborough tragedy.
