Hammer-wielding robbers struck at an Ellesmere Port supermarket on Sunday afternoon (August 2).

Two men threatened staff and stole cash from a safe at Farmfoods on York Road just before 4pm.

Both were wearing full motorcycle clothing and helmets to hide their identities.

One of the robbers used a hammer to intimidate workers as they forced their way into the office and got into the safe.

Staff at the shop were very shaken by the incident, but were unharmed.

They fled the scene on a motorcycle with the registration DG61FNC which is believed to have been stolen before the robbery.

Cheshire Police are seeking witnesses with any information regarding the identity of the men or the location of the bike.
