POLICE are advising motorists about a series of short road closures taking place during Neston Ladies Day on June 3.

During the annual event, four parades will be taking place through Neston, resulting in some road closures for short periods of time.

A diversion route for all traffic will be in place during the parades. The diversions will only need to be used during each parade as the roads will reopen once the parades have passed.

Alternatively, vehicles can wait at the stop points until the parade has passed.

The diversion route will by-pass the town centre via Gladstone Road > Tannery Lane and Raby Park Road. This will provide access between Hinderton Road and Liverpool Road / A540.

Traffic in the Parkgate area should access the area via The Parade > Boathouse Lane > Chester High Road.

Each of the four parades will last between 10 and 25 minutes and traffic will be halted at the start of and released at the end of each parade.

The first parade will begin at 1.45pm at the British Legion and will turn left into Chester Road, right into High Street past Neston Cross into Liverpool Road.

Parade two starts at 2.30pm at the Malt Shovel Public House car park along Liverpool Road and into the High Street. At 2.55 pm the procession is due to arrive at St Mary’s & St Helen’s Parish Church for a 45 minute service.

At 3.40pm, the third parade will leave the Parish church and muster in Church Lane (directly behind the church) proceeding along Parkgate Road towards the direction of The Cross. It is due to arrival at Neston Cross for an outdoor service and blessing of the town at 3.55pm.

At 4.05pm, the final parade moves from the Cross, along High Street – Bridge Street – turning left into Chester Road to the Civic Hall where it will stop in the road and disperse.
