DRIVERS reported long queues along the Tarporley bypass this week due the closure of Rode Street.
The road between the A49 Tarporley bypass roundabout and its junction with Utkinton Road and Burton Square was closed this week for carriageway resurfacing work.
An alternative route for traffic during the closure was via A49 Tarporley Bypass southwards to Nantwich Road, Nantwich Road/High Street to Burton Square/Utkinton Road.
Driver Jodie Robinson, of Heath Drive, Tarvin, said: “The traffic was backed up along the bypass and going at a snail’s pace. It was extremely difficult to get in and out of Tarporley due to the sheer amount of traffic.”
The road is due to be reopened on Friday, October 24.
