A CHESTER industrial estate has been praised for its cleanliness.

River Lane Industrial Estate, Saltney, was complimented for its lack of graffiti, litter and damaged structures following a recent environmental audit of the area.

PC Ian Millington, community beat manager for the Saltney Mold junction ward, said he was impressed with the tidy condition of the estate.

He said: “It must be one of the cleaner industrial estates around, it was quite surprising, but Saltney overall is quite a tidy town.

“I was expecting there to be quite a lot of negative factors, but the upkeep of the place has been very good.

“All it needs is a few dog bins, but there’s not even much of a problem with dogs fouling.”

Saltney town councillor Klaus Armstrong-Braun said he was going to send commendations to all firms on the industrial estate to congratulate them on helping to maintain the area.

He said: “The high standard of the area improves respect for the town and people will want to keep it like that.

“It must be one of the cleanest industrial estates in Wales.”
