THE third annual Halton Learners Awards Ceremony takes place on Saturday, July 22, between 10am and noon at The Foundry in Widnes.
It celebrates the achievements of learners who have taken part in adult education classes during 2005 and 2006.
The awards are made to individuals or groups who have made outstanding progress or have achieved notable success in one of seven categories, which reflect the different backgrounds of learners, such as Overcoming the Odds, Achievements that Inspire and Family Learners.
There is a wide variety of adult education on offer in Halton, from personal interest classes through to the more academic courses such as GCSEs and Access programmes.
