RETROSPECTIVE permission was granted for the change of use of a Green Belt barn to office space.

The application was made by Mr P Richardson at Barrowmore Farm, Hollowmoor Heath, Barrow.

The residential property has two barns, one of which is currently used for office purposes in connection with the occupation of the main house, according to a report. Mr Richardson told planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council he was seeking approval for the change of use from residential.

No alterations would be made to the building. No observations were made by Barrow Parish Council and there were no objections from neighbours.

A small area in the barn would be available for visiting businessmen, said the report.

The office has a separate entrance to the house and its reuse would not affect the openness of that part of the Green Belt, planners suggested.

It would not be extended and there would be no effect on residential amenity.

Permission was granted subject to planning conditions placed on the barn.
