A CHESTER youth football team has kicked off the new season with a striking new kit.

Christleton NewScene’s young football stars celebrated with a slap-up breakfast at the Stadium Retail Park branch of its sponsor, McDonald’s, on Sunday October 19.

Nineteen players and their families took over the restaurant for an official presentation of the new kit from local McDonald’s franchisee, Jeanette Roe.

Jeanette, who pledged her support for the team for three seasons, also provides fruit bags or orange juice for the players on match days.

She said: “I am delighted to help our local under-12s football team. Clubs like Christleton NewScene nurture the football talents of tomorrow and I’m pleased to play a part in supporting the team by sponsoring their kits.”

Christleton NewScene have two eleven-strong squads and have had a promising start to the season, with six wins out of eight games.

Coach Mark Ashton said: “On behalf of myself and all the boys, I’d like to say a big thanks to McDonald’s and Jeanette Roe. The team has been made up with their new kit and can step out on to the pitch feeling proud.”
