PEOPLE power has prevailed in Halton Brook after residents forced Riverside Housing to re-think the colour scheme for their homes.

Residents of Penfolds were furious when they were not given a choice as to what colour the outside of their houses would be painted.

Amanda Jones, said: 'The windows and wooden boards were painted a disgusting nicotine colour. We have been told all the houses have to be the same colour scheme, but the rest of the houses on the estate have been painted really nice colours.'

In protest the Riverside Housing tenants living on Penfolds raised a petition in the hope of having the decision overturned which they handed in on Friday.'

A spokesperson for Riverside Housing said: '. Our contractors will visit everybody who has signed the petition to determine what they would prefer.'

On Tuesday work began to re-paint the homes in colour chosen by residents.
