FAMILIES can enjoy a picnic as much-loved gardens in Frodsham celebrate winning a prestigious environmental award.

On Wednesday, August 31, the Friends of Castle Park will be hosting a picnic and fun day in the park packed with activities for all the family to enjoy.

The event, which is to celebrate Castle Park achieving national Green Flag Status, should see dozens of families flock to the grounds to enjoy fun and games during the closing days of the summer holidays.

Mayor of Frodsham, Cllr Andrew Dawson, said: “Castle Park has achieved national Green Flag status for the first time this year and the Friends Group and Castle Park Trust are celebrating by showing local residents exactly what the site has on offer.

“Castle Park is always looking for new volunteers to help it to continue to flourish.”

The picnic and fun day will be held at Castle Park on Wednesday, August 31, from 11.30-3pm. People are reminded to bring an umbrella just in case.
