BLINDFOLDED residents stumbled through the streets to raise awareness on World Sight Day.

Dozens of residents joined members of Helsby and Frodsham Lions to walk blindly through the streets of Frodsham for charity.

And the fundraisers were joined by the Mayor of Frodsham Cllr Andrew Dawson who was led through the town by Labrador Inca to the delight of passing shoppers.

Secretary of the Helsby and Frodsham Lions Margaret Marsh said the walk had been a huge success, with many shoppers stopping to pat the dogs.

“Nearly everyone put money in the boxes and stroked the dogs,” said Margaret.

“It was a great success and raised a lot of awareness for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. Andrew did really well with the walk, and when he came back we all walked up to the Post Office.”

Despite the total raised not being known, the day is thought to have raised hundreds of pounds for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
