RESIDENTS of Elmwood Avenue, Newton, braved the elements to enjoy a Big Lunch.
Organiser Diana Wilderspin Jones said: “Never mind the rain, the neighbours of Elmwood Avenue had a great Big Lunch.
“The council made the road closure easy and the Chester Transition Town group let us use their insurance for the day, helping to make the event fun for everyone.”
The Big Lunch is a nationwide campaign to get neighbours together and improve community spirit.
The Transition Town group aims to help communities deal with the effects of climate change.
